Open Doors ranks Illinois fifth in the nations' "Top Doctoral/Research Institutions" for total number of study abroad students with 1,988.
The University of Illinois has eight national resource centers, funded by the Department of Education. Only two universities in the nation have more centers than Illinois - the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the University of Washington.
